Kisses and Conversation

"My hands are stained with accomplishment."  I wrote this once in my Journal when I was a Junior in college after a weekend of crew work.  I was rigging lights and tying ropes for our mainstage production of Angels in America.  It was-at that time-the most technical show the University had ever done (from a lighting standpoint).  My hands were black, I was picking fiberglass out of my nose and I had cuts everywhere.  And I dug that.

"Why are you bringing this up, Lucas?"  Because today my hands are stained with similar accomplishment.  It's gonna be a long next couple months, but with any luck I will have my nose above sea-level (monetarily speaking) for the first time since I was 15.  That, my friends, is what Ringo would (probably) call "groovy."

Tonight I'll watch Liberty and Shayne sing, then I'll take the bus back to Hollywood to dance with Jana & Jonica.  It's their 40th birthday this month.  They both look outstanding for 40.  congratulations, girls.  My first conversation with Jana was about the mythology surrounding Absinthe.  My first conversation was Jonica was about the subtle rhetoric on Nantucket Nectar labels.  I was a thirsty young man.

Listen to The Shivers.  And your parents.  And both only on vinyl.

I love you,

Jana & Jonica both represented.
