Sheep Dicks

Sheep dicks.  I've never seen a sheep dick and I doubt I will at the pace I'm going.  I can't say it bothers me, but I can't say I'm all together comfortable with that, either.  "Don't dream it, be it."

I haven't written in a minute, and I'm pretty sure the world has continued spinning.  I've been back in LA almost 2 months now, and I'm making preparations to leave again.  I wouldn't say that leaving Korea was a mistake-not at all.  But it just so happens that I want to go back.  Or maybe China.  Or maybe Taiwan.  Or maybe...Po(rt)land.  Krakow.  Stockholm.  Heaven.  Jupiter.  Your anus.

I quit that nasty X-Mas light job.  Nothing made me feel shittier than waking up to my call time.  Naturally, it straps me for cash, but it beats stringing incandescent lights together all god damn day.  I was a "hedge master," which meant I was too inept to do anything else besides hedges.  I do regret not ever going up in the cherry picker.  That looked like a good time.

So I'm here on Wilcox again.  I type and I walk and I eat potato salad and I read.  I also drink heroic amounts of wine when the time is right.  And I'm cast in a movie.  I play Andrew.  He is supposed to have long, curly brown hair.  I believe I'll shave it.  But not before my interview with TALK tomorrow.

This post is all over the place.  If you fear you got lost along the way, kindly reprioritize your life.

I love you and I love you.

Make Happy Korea Gives Thanks, Yes

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Thanksgiving celebrators in Jeomchon, SoKo.  May your day feel somewhat different and more festive than usual even if no one gives you the day off.  Or...do they?

Not me!  I work tomorrow.  I hate the job I'm working, but it fits so nice into my plan that I hesitate leaving it.  Every day I consider it, but so far I've kept a good face on my head and made it out of the day employed.  Yay for me.  But Charlotte's gonna get that much closer to gettin' pai-aid.

My friend Jonno has a blog.  It's a long one, so brace yourself.  He's an incredibly well-spoken and sincere friend o' mine, and he possesses qualities that are so bright and so radiant that I'm honored he considers me a dear friend too.  Together, we made music.  We actually never composed a full song together-which is really too bad-but then again, it'd be foolish to consider our time together over.  It's simply separated my an ocean at present.  And 18 hours.

Happy Thanksgiving, Jonno.  Enjoy some tofurky on me.

Asa!

Fantasy's Follie/Folly

After embracing the situation, I now see that she is not for me.

Angela, you are a beautiful human being. Probably.

RIP Infatuation, 11/2013 to 11/2013.

Double Black Diamond

Good morning, y'all.  In the words of Garfield: "Fuck Mondays."

But it's all the same to me, Birdies, because there aint no break in my tear through manual labor these days.  Sunday is Wednesday is Friday.  And today, Rico is starting work with me.  Chim chim cheree!

Tonight I will either head to the beach after work and...look...at it, or go to Bardot for Jake Troth's Double Black Diamond film screening and show.  Obviously, I don't give much of a care for his music, but I hope to see the previously mentioned Oriental human being there.  Is that the wrong word?  Eh.  Like Garfield says: "Fuck semantics."

There is very little left to repost at the moment besides I will soon become a movie star and Don Juan of the Western world.  Ho hum, really.

Live til you don't wanna,

Ansa

Though I didn't ever speak to her, last night I fell in love with the woman who created this, as well as 1000s of other treasures.

Oh, mine impetuous heart.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Sea Change!

It's the season, Yo.  We're inching towards Thanksgiving so that we may blast past it for Black Friday, sink our teeth into commerce and then slowly drink our eggnog-lovin'-selves to death in time for St. Nick's triumphant return.  I'll have the house to myself for another X-Mas, so that means either sexy sweaty parties or eating all of Ryan's ginger snacks again.

I've got the wanderlust, Babies.  I gots to leave LA.  Looks like I'll be here through early/mid January, then shove off to Portlandia.  I look forward to the next disenchanted phase of my life.  Then I gots to leave the country.  Why not now?  Oh, I don't know.  Gotta make $1,500 first.  That's the big number.  The sign, the marquee.  The big ol' What's Yer Doin'!  Once that is made and handed off to an unnamed bank tucked into the busy streets of the San Fernando Valley, I'm free.  I'm cordless.  I'm floating.  I'm OUT OF DEBT.  Good lord, how I welcome such a thing.  This should take me up until the end of the year, which is quickly approaching!  Oh New Year, how I always love you (for a bit, then I eat a lard sandwich and smoke a pack of cabernet).

X-Mas light hanging is a shitty job, but it's gettin' me some dough.  I smell and I realize how useless I can sometimes be when surrounded by manual labor duties.  Pish posh, I'm more cut out to live amongst the clouds, anyway.

My camera's out of batteries.

My arms are covered in sap.

I have to use the restroom.

Office Depot.

Martita is 16 feet tall, for reference's sake.

to their children why they can't play outside.

I'll never not do this with posable dolls.

There she is.

Kisses and Conversation

"My hands are stained with accomplishment."  I wrote this once in my Journal when I was a Junior in college after a weekend of crew work.  I was rigging lights and tying ropes for our mainstage production of Angels in America.  It was-at that time-the most technical show the University had ever done (from a lighting standpoint).  My hands were black, I was picking fiberglass out of my nose and I had cuts everywhere.  And I dug that.

"Why are you bringing this up, Lucas?"  Because today my hands are stained with similar accomplishment.  It's gonna be a long next couple months, but with any luck I will have my nose above sea-level (monetarily speaking) for the first time since I was 15.  That, my friends, is what Ringo would (probably) call "groovy."

Tonight I'll watch Liberty and Shayne sing, then I'll take the bus back to Hollywood to dance with Jana & Jonica.  It's their 40th birthday this month.  They both look outstanding for 40.  congratulations, girls.  My first conversation with Jana was about the mythology surrounding Absinthe.  My first conversation was Jonica was about the subtle rhetoric on Nantucket Nectar labels.  I was a thirsty young man.

Listen to The Shivers.  And your parents.  And both only on vinyl.

I love you,

Jana & Jonica both represented.
